Lament of her who is separated from Him

parakAla nAyaki continues—the southern cool breeze which normally brings cool air and pleasure to everyone blows hot fire like wind on me. He who reveals His parAkrama in killing rAkShasas, lifting gOvardhana etc., reveals the same parAkrama on me too! i think He has ordered the ‘tenral’ to blow hot air on me. Don’t the upaniShads say fearing Him the wind blows, fearing Him the sun rises and sets etc., Therefore the breeze too obeys His order.

The cool winter breeze carrying the water particles of the dark clouds tortures me. Why should it be so? Is it because i desired to see His tuzhasi mAla and tirumArbu? Should He punish me for this genuine desire of mine who loves Him?

In the last pASura parakAla nAyaki said the breeze brings fire on her. Now she says the winter breeze brings cool showers that torments her more. It is better if it kills me rather than harassing me like this.

The worldly pleasure giving objects like the breeze etc., give happiness to the samsAris but give suffering to those who want only BagavadanuBava.

Already the bangles slip from my hands and the beautiful complexion also has slipped from my body. i feel miserable. Added to the misery is the moon who burns me with his cruel rays. Weak already as i am the tuzhasi mAla challenges me to fight with her. Oh! What shall i do?

tingaL vengadir Seerum –‘mEvu taN madiyum vemmadiyAvadO’ tiruvAimozhi.

kongalarnda taN tAr koovum— ‘tOLiNai mElum nan mArbin mElum SuDar muDi mElum tALiNai mElum punainda taNNanduzhAyuDaiya ammAn’.

When i see Him with tuzhasi mAla all over His shoulders head, tiruvaDi etc., my feminine qualities are thrown into air and the decency leaves me making me go and seek Him where He is.

Why should the cool moon rays burn me now? i think He who decreed the nature of things (like the moon should have cool rays, sun should have hot rays etc.,) has ordered the rays to become cruel and hot to burn me! This is all His sankalpa alone. Why should He have such sankalpa towards me alone? i think He wants to show His heroism (kOyinmai) which He showed on pootana.

kOyinmai—‘kuzhahi engaL kuzhamaNan koNDu kOyinmai Seidu karmam onrillai’—tiruvAimozhi. This word is used in a different sense in periyAzhwAr tirumozhi ‘aDimai ennum akkOyinmaiyAlE’.

The sea roars noisily and tortures my already agitated mind. Why should it do so? i think the sea is angry and sad because emberumAn snatched away the moon who travels in the sky from Him. Isn’t He the narasimhamoorti who split open the chest of hiraNya?

mA madi vAngavE—When the sea was churned many things came out of it like –kAlakooTa poison, uchchaisravas (a horse) airAvata (elephant), nectar etc., It is said moon also came out of the ocean. Now it is in the sky. Hence the ocean is sad and roars loudly that the beautiful moon has left him. the word ‘madi’ means buddhi as well as moon. AzhwAr uses it in both senses. i am a fool to cry like this sea who lost his madi (moon).

The Lord wielded his bow and vanquished the city of Lanka, Is it to speak of his valour now, that the Anril birds pairing in a nest of lotus twings, high on the Palm tree in the front yard, coil incessantly and hurt me?

I stood and watched longingly as the kaya-hued Lord came riding Garuda bird, Is this my punishment, ;that Madana the god of love, keeps; piercing my soul with his flower-arrows constantly?

My heart was searching for the Lord everywhere, when his cool Tulas garland came along with a fragrarii breeze and entered me. A wee bit of if stuck in my like a thorn, Alas, it is impossible to save myself now.

These are songs in praise of the wonder Lord senkanmai who went as a messenger to the five in the Bharata war, by the fomous Mangai king Kalikanri. Thos who master it will be never despair.
